Description of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Drainage/ Sewer Pipe and Fitting

The dredging pipe is made of high-density polyethylene, which is welded by HDPE pipe, HDPE flange adapter and two steel flanges, also known as HDPE flange pipe. Dredging HDPE pipelines are used together with floats filled with polyurethane (foam) materials during water operations to widen or dig deep rivers and lakes. The main function of dredging pipelines is to clean up and transport sediment, mud and other mixed debris .

Fields of application for dredging pipes:

1. Shipping industry. It is used to clear and transport sediment in the channel and dredge the channel.

2. Metallurgical industry. It is used to transport non-ferrous metals such as ore pulp, metallurgical waste slag and lead particles.

3. Construction industry. Dredging pipes can be used for drinking and non drinking water pipes, drainage risers, sewer pipes, and mud transportation for mixing pump trucks.

4. Chemical industry. It is used to transport various fluids with severe corrosion like acids, bases, salts, etc.

5. Thermal power plants. It is used to transport fly ash dry powder and water-cement slurry.

6. Coal industry. It is used in mines, such as the coal mines to transport heavy media and coal-water slurry.

Advantages of High Density Polyethylene Dredging Pipe and Fitting:

  • 1. Excellent chemical resistance: Polyethylene is an inert material. HDPE pipes are resistant to erosion by various chemical media except for a few strong oxidants. The pipes will not be degraded by chemicals present in the soil.
  • 2. High toughness: The elongation at break of HDPE pipes is generally above 500%, the tensile strength is high, and it will not break under the impact of internal and external forces. It's suitable to use on water because of the strong wind and wave resistance.
  • 3. Easy to assemble and disassemble: The weight of the PE pipe of the same diameter is only 1/8 of the steel pipe. They are jointed by flanges and bolts, which are convenient for transportation and installation and saves costs.
  • 4. HDPE pipe has Excellent flexible and resistance to scratches ability.
  • 5. Excellent smoothness and wear resistance: The wear resistance of HDPE pipe is more than 4 times of steel pipe, and the friction coefficient is smaller than steel pipe, which can improve the conveying capacity by about 20%.
  • 6. The operating temperature: from -40℃ to 60℃, which can adapt to harsh climate and temperature changes. The engineering cost is low, the efficiency is high, and it is more convenient.
  • 7. Long service life.
